Plural: Radii
Meaning The distance from the center of a circle to its edge. In DFM, it defines the size of a rounded corner.
Think of… A coin used to round off a corner — the size of that rounded corner or fillet.
Etymology Latin radius = spoke of a wheel, ray.
DFM Meaning The measurement used to define the size of a fillet or rounded edge.
Singular - Use a 3 mm radius.
Plural - Increase the internal radii to reduce stress concentration.
Industry Example - All internal radii shall be at least 1.5 mm.
